Adventure and travel writing hit a wall in an article published in September 2014 by FHM India magazine, suggesting Indian tourists to pee in Pangong Tso lake as a mark of patriotism. (WHAT?)
The (unknown) author of this article “Earn Your Summer Man Stripes” has written 40 things for men to do when they out on a roadtrip in Leh-Ladakh region. But out of many unimpressive points, (in point no: 38) the writer recommends peeing in the lake as a gesture to show patriotism because the lake is located on the disputed border land between India and China.
The objection on the content was initially raised by Mr. Yogesh Sarkar on his Facebook profile, including an open letter to the publication regarding the issue.
Even now, many travel enthusiasts are unsettled with such irresponsible piece of content published by FHM India magazine.

Those who don’t know, this is the natural marvel we are talking about.
Surprisingly, the article mentions peeing in open, not once but twice in the write up. In point no: 13, it is strangely suggested to pee on the road side while passers by, including women watch you doing your business.

UPDATE: Post publishing this story, FHM India has taken down the article link from their wesbite. A response has been posted by the magazine editor on FHM facebook Page.
But is it too late for damage control considering the print and web version of the article was published a year ago?
